The people of Egbema clan in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State have said that they have rejected the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and Governor Nyesom Wike, saying that the people of Egbema would not vote PDP candidates in 2019 general election.
Speaking to Independent Searchlight Newsonline in an interview at okwuzi community, Nwaga Ignatius said “Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s government is far better than the present Wike’s government.
He enumerated some of the developmental projects former governor Rotimi Amaechi brought to the people of Egbema to include modern health center, modern primary school among others, adding that the only road dualization project of governor Wike has been abandoned.
He warned that the PDP should not border coming to campaign in Egbema as they have chosen to support APC because of the numerous projects Amaechi sited in the area.
Recall that a socio-political group in the area, Egbema Massive Movement had two weeks ago protested against what they termed marginalization of Egbema ethnic nationality by the government of the day.
When contacted on the phone, lawmaker representing the area in the State House of Assembly, Hon Nathaniel Uwaji could not comment as at the time of filling this report.
