CHIEFS, STAKEHOLDERS, OPINION LEADERS AND PROMIMENT SONS & DAUGHTERS OF KALABARI KINGDOM MEETS TO FORGE A COMMON FRONT IN RESPECT OF THE KALABARI GOVERNORSHIP PROJECT
The strategic meeting which was convened by Alabo T. O. Graham-Douglas and facilitated by Alabo Charles Dokubo & Hon. Karibi Bob-Manuel saw in attendance, prominent sons and daughters of Kalabari kingdom, among whom are Community Heads, Elder Statesmen, Academicians, Leaders of Traditional, Socio-cultural and Political Institutions, leaders of Women Groups, etc.
Alabo T. O. Graham-Douglas in his speech stressed the need for the Kalabaris to come together, speak with one voice and forge a common front. This he said, will facilitate the emergence of a Kalabari governor.
He insists that a house divided against itself cannot stand. In order to win the affection of other ethnic groups, there is great need for the Kalabaris to have a unity of purpose and uphold oneness.
He further encouraged the Kalabari people to queue behind their son who flies the APC flag as its standard bearer in Rivers State.
He stressed that, it is way difficult to win an election with a mushroom party in a system dominated by only two major parties.
Therefore, it is pertinent to leverage on the opportunity divinely presented to us by giving our total support to the flag bearer of one of the two major parties who is a son of the Kalabari soil.
Other prominent persons who spoke reaffirmed the position of Alabo T. O. Graham-Douglas. It was generally agreed that this move was long overdue but is key in determining the future and direction of the Kalabari people.
Everyone present resolved to give all their support to Arc. Tonye Patrick Cole while efforts would be made to reach out to other parties and encourage them to do likewise. A Communique shall be released to this effect.
The meeting ended with Amb. Dele Patrick Cole, father of Arc. Tonye Cole giving his fatherly blessings to his son while others held hands together in agreement.
