STOP GIVING CREDIT TO YOURSELF ON PROJECTS NOT FINANCED BY RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT.
The APC Chairman in Rivers State, Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree, has berated Gov Wike on an attempt to make Rivers people, believe he is working, thereby giving credit to himself for projects done by the Universal Basic Education and funds meant for local government areas.
Ojukaye Flag Amachree in an interview with newsmen in his office at Port Harcourt, said that Rivers people are tired with the deceitful antics which is Gov. Wike's stock in trade, which Nigerians are aware of.
"It is very unfortunate that Wike thinks Rivers people are fools by calling his close friends and associates who does not know of the untold hardship Rivers people are suffering under Wike's administration, to commission UBE projects and some (substandard) road projects that can not improve the living standards of Rivers people. The information available to me, has it that Universal Basic Education, is renovating the schools Wike is calling his friends to commission". Ojukaye stated
Ojukaye wondered why Gov Wike will keep the federal allocations and internally generated revenue to himself.
"What Gov Wike is doing with Rivers money is what I don't know uptill now. The just renovated Rumuokwuta girls, Nyomoni Grammar school, Birabi Momerial High School, etc were all done by the Universal Basic Education. While the renovation works is a cosmetic approach and does not meet the standard of educational needs of our schooling children, it is noteworthy that Wike on assumption of office, frustrated and caused the withdrawal of students in higher institutions on scholarship abroad. Indeed it is laughable that while the Governor is increasingly patronizing illiteracy by refusing to complete tuition fees of our children studying abroad, some of who were in their third and final levels, yet he intends to take credit for schools renovated under UBE. Can Rivers people allow Wike take glory for what he did not do". Ojukaye queried.
The APC Chairman in Rivers State, said that, though he appreciate the school renovations, but that his worry is the cosmetic approach adopted by Gov. Wike in renovating schools as a result of the low standard of education caused by Wike's administration.
Ojukaye further stated that the funds meant for local government are also the ones Gov Wike is using to do the few substandard roads he has embarked on.
" Recently, Gov Wike embarked on a spending spree as he invites his friends to "Flag-off" and commission some failed projects. Some of such are the just commissioned Isiokpo Internal Roads and okeh avenue off Eastern bypass at ogbunuabali community in Port Harcourt which sections failed no sooner he commissioned them. Just one rain, washed off the road projects done by Gov wike. What a shame". Ojukaye further stated.
Ojukaye Flag Amachree call on Gov. Wike, to deliver projects with value for money for the utilization of Rivers people.
